River Plate's Franco Armani Literally Crowned Man Of The Match By Sponsors Burger King

Imagine the scene. You manage to keep arguably the most important clean sheet of your life to secure the club's first ever Argentinian Super Cup title.
After the full-time whistle, you are quickly approached by a reporter. You stand and wait for a congratulations or a handshake. You have secured the Man of the Match award in such a huge game.
But in a remarkable turn of events, somebody approaches you and pulls out a Burger King crown. He places it on top of your head in front of millions of people watching at home. The moment is totally gone. Burger King have completely fucked it.
Ladies and gentlemen, this actually happened to River Plate goalkeeper Franco Armani and all we can say is sorry.
We didn't want this to be shared to potentially millions more people. But we just couldn't help ourselves.
River's Franco Armani was crowned, quite literally, Man of the Match by sponsors Burger King last night.

The 31-year-old took it well and raised a smile or two, but deep down inside, he probably wanted to tear Burger King's golden crown into a million pieces. Which would have made the scene a million times funnier.
Sam Kelly on Twitter wrote: "It appears to be made of metal rather than paper, but even so that is the crappest award I've ever seen. The TV folk made him put it on and everything"
Daniel also commented, saying: "River's Franco Armani rightly awarded Man of the Match for his heroics. The prize: a Burger King crown which he looks mortified at having to wear. Argentina."

Franco Armani has been given a Burger King Kid's Club crown as his Man of the Match award. It appears to be made of metal rather than paper, but even so that is the crappest award I've ever seen. The TV folk made him put it on and everything. https://t.co/acmvM7ZpGh

Is this one of the worst things you've ever seen in modern football?
