Michael Owen's Latest Comments About Liverpool & Jurgen Klopp Branded 'Ironic'

Michael Owen has gone out of his way to praise former club Liverpool and, in particularly, their manager Jurgen Klopp but has been accused of failing to see the irony of his comments by fans.

Wednesday night saw the transfer window close across Europe, and the last few days was probably more about outgoings for the Reds with Mario Balotelli heading to Nice on a free transfer, and £20 million winger Lazar Markovic heading to Sporting Lisbon on loan.

Liverpool also shipped out Martin Skrtel earlier in the summer, and Owen is impressed with how Klopp has gone about his business - by shipping out senior players who aren't contributing much:

Now, if we didn't know better, we'd be willing to wager that Owen was having a self-deprecating dig at himself, and the fact that he was often injured throghout his career and, well, often didn't contribute much.

But given his previous social media faux pas, it's probably not and fans weren't quick to let him know:
