Ex-Heavyweight Champion Charles Martin Shot

Some disturbing news is surfacing as former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin has been shot at.

The boxer was shot in the forearm and is laid up in the hospital, according to TMZ.

Martin was allegedly involved in an altercation in California when two men approached his vehicle. An argument led to shots being fired, which prompted Martin to get in his car and chase the alleged shooters, but crashed into a utility pole, via a police report.

The American heavily bled as he denied chasing after the perpetrators, instead looking for cover while he claimed he had no idea why they had beef with him. He jumped in the bed of a parked pickup truck where he "Looked down, and saw a pool of blood. I said to myself, 'I gotta get outta here. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna bleed to death. I have to pay respect to the cops. They saved my life."

Martin won the heavyweight title in bizarre fashion against Vyacheslav Glazkov but immediately lost it to Anthony Joshua in April after a 2nd round stoppage.

We hope "Prince" has a swift recovery.
