Yes, you have read that correctly.

The Europa League trophy was STOLEN, but, it's back in safe hands with UEFA.

Well, safe-ish.

Ahead of the May 16th final, the Europa League trophy has been on a world-wide tour, parading City's across the globe including Leon, Mexico.

And it was during the tour where the trophy was reportedly pinched from a van - apparently in a FedEx vehicle - in Mexico.

Shortly after the trophy was returned to UEFA.

The state prosecutor's office confirmed the Europa League trophy had been recovered by sharing a picture of the title in it's case, covered up in a special cloth.

Phew.

Meanwhile, the semi-final first-legs go down next week.

Arsenal entertain Atletico Madrid, while Marseille take on Red Bull Salzburg.

Following his decision to step down as Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger will he hoping to end his reign on a high by lifting European silverware.

He's cleaned up domestic honours; from Premier League titles and FA Cup's.

Though he has yet to bag a European title for Arsenal.

Lyon's Parc OL will host the Europa League final on Wednesday May 16th.
