ESPN have predicted next year's Premier League table a little prematurely - but it's a good effort all the same.

The outlet predicted next year's table before the summer transfer window finishes. They have Manchester City, unsurprisingly, as winners of the league, with Liverpool coming runners-up.

Last season's runners up Manchester United find themselves just making it to fourth spot. Newcastle United's brilliance in 2018 had them finish in tenth place last season, owing to the tactical astuteness of Rafa Benitez.

It seems as though ESPN place great trust in the Spaniard despite concerns over the transfer budge as it has the north-east side finishing in 7th spot for next season.

There are more surprises, however. Crystal Palace are just below Newcastle United in 8th place whilst newly-promoted Fulham are in ninth.

ESPN say: "They will take anyone on, and that approach will pay dividends with a top-half finish and plenty of acclaim for Slavisa Jokanovic's free-flowing side. Keeping Aleksandar Mitrovic, seemingly unwanted at Newcastle and prolific at Craven Cottage, could be the key."

Burnley, who did brilliantly well last season, are predicted to finish 15th in the league, owing to their run of fixtures in the Europa League.

As for relegation, ESPN have Watford, Huddersfield and Cardiff City as the three heading to the Championship.

For Cardiff, the team predicted to finish 20th, the publication says: "They have plenty of experience, but there is a dearth of quality and not even the wise old head of Neil Warnock will be able to bridge the gap between the Bluebirds and their competitors.
