Erling Haaland Names Player He Wanted To Play With Most And Sends Message To Virgil Van Dijk

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has praised Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk by calling him an "incredible player."

The 19-year-old Norwegian starlet has become one of Europe's most sought-after young talents after a scintillating season.

And Haaland, who signed for Borussia Dortmund in January, crossed paths with Van Dijk when he played for RB Salzburg earlier in the season.

The Manchester United target scored in a 4-3 Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield last October and also featured in Salzburg's 2-0 defeat in December.

Haaland, who has been linked with Real Madrid, admitted that Dutch star Van Dijk "possesses all the qualities" for a top defender in world football.

Haaland has also revealed that he holds strong admiration for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.

During a quick-fire Q&A with ESPN, the Dortmund starlet named the Blues legend as the one retired player he wished he could have played alongside.

Haaland recently broke his silence on Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar and how the PSG players mocked his meditation pose in the Champions League this season.

But the Norwegian wonderkid insisted that the PSG players' antics didn't upset him and instead thanked Neymar for helping to spread an important message.

Haaland explained: "No, not really. I think they helped me a lot to get meditation out in the world and to show the whole world that meditation is an important thing so I'm thankful that they helped me with that."
