Erling Haaland reportedly has a "verbal agreement'" to leave Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and Real Madrid are "optimistic" of signing the Norwegian hot-shot.

Still only 20 years old, the man mountain of a striker has scored a ridiculous 26 goals in 28 games since signing for Dortmund in December.

He's become one of the hottest striking properties in the last year or so and AS say Real have been extremely high on him from a while now and are hopeful of bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu in less than two years.

They also add that reports of Haaland having a €75 million release clause that will soon come to play are wide of the mark.

However, the Spanish outlet claim that is Dortmund will allow him to move onto pastures new in 2022 should he want to - courtesy of a "gentleman's agreement" struck between the club, player and his superagent Mino Raiola.

Haaland's compatriot and close friend Martin Odegaard plies his trade for Los Blancos and could help persuade the former Red Bull Salzburg make the switch, while Real and Dortmund have a productive relationship and have done loan deals involving the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Reinier in recent times.

Real's last real marquee signing was Eden Hazard in 2019 and the report adds that Real are keen to secure the services of long-term target Kylian Mbappe next summer.

The World Cup winner has long been linked with Real and has apparently told PSG he wishes to leave the French capital at the end of the season.

His compatriot Eduardo Camavinga, the 17-year-old Rennes and France sensation, is also a top target.
