Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor has finally landed himself a move, on deadline day.

The 32-year old has been without a club since leaving Crystal Palace, where he scored just once, in June. He had been heavily linked with Ligue One side Lyon, but it emerged back in September that manager Bruno Genesio decided he didn't want him.

Despite not playing at club level, Adebayor was named in Togo's squad African Cup Of Nations squad and took on the No.4 shirt for the tournament - a true football crime for a striker to wear such a number. A

Apparently, he chose the number because of his admiration for former Arsenal striker Kanu, who wore the same squad number for Nigeria.

And now, he's finally found a new club, with the former Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Real Madrid striker signing for Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir in the Turkish top flight, with the team current second place in the Turkish Super Lig.

The club announced the signing of Adebayor on Twitter today after he had arrived in Istanbul for talks and a medical. He has put pen to paper a contract until 2018.

Adebayor was in the news recently after Brede Hangeland, a teammate at Palace, went in on the striker and shared some incredible details about Adebayor's laziness.

One story was from back when Hangeland was playing against Adebayor in a game between Fulham and Tottenham, with the Norwegian claiming Ade asked him to recommend a restaurant in the middle of the game and then an even more ridiculous anecdote about how lazy he would be in the gym - eating muffins and drinking coffee instead of getting a sweat on.

Do you think Adebayor will be a success in Turkey? Do you even care? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
