Eden Hazard's Injury Problems Are "Chronic" And Is In A "Vicious Cycle"

Belgium's team doctor says Eden Hazard's injury problems are "chronic" in a worrying assessment following yet another injury.

Hazard is set to be sidelined for at least three weeks after suffering a thigh injury.

He has once again found himself injured at Real Madrid in his latest setback.

The 30-year-old has been plagued with injuries since completing a £80 million transfer from Chelsea in 2019.

Belgian national team doctor Kristof Sas has now shared his thoughts on the player's injury problems, claiming he's in a "vicious cycle" regarding his fitness situation.

"We are awaiting the details and knowing more, but it is clear that it is worrisome," he told Nieuwsblad.

"The injuries at this stage of the season are not worrisome for the Euro, it is even a rest period. But with Eden it is different.

"It's another relapse, a chronic situation that always goes wrong in the end . First the ankle, then the muscle injuries. It's all very unpleasant."

Sas added: "Eden is in a vicious circle and it's not easy to get out of it . It's disturbing what happens with her musculature.

"A footballer must be able to kick, turn, jump, all at high speed. And, of course, this is more difficult during rehabilitation.

"He needs pace and continuity. The situation is not dramatic for us yet, but must urgently get out of that dead end."

Hazard has already missed six weeks at the start of the season with an ankle injury.

He was then out of action for two weeks in November after testing positive for COVID-19.

His injury woes continued as he was forced to sit out with a hamstring problem.

The Blues legend has only played 24 La Liga games since moving to Spain with Real fans fearing whether they'll see him at his best in Madrid.
