Eden Hazard Wore No.50 On His Real Madrid Debut

Eden Hazard Wore No.50 On His Real Madrid Debut

Eden Hazard made his debut for Real Madrid wearing the No.50 shirt as it came on the 50 year anniversary of the first moon landing.

On 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong made history when he became the first person to step foot on the moon, coming up with the famous phrase "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind," after the game-changing Apollo 11 mission.

And Hazard, who is still yet to be allocated a shirt number at his new employers, elected to pay tribute during the 3-1 friendly defeat to Bayern Munich in Houston, Texas.

Hazard asked Luka Modric about taking his No.10 shirt at Los Blancos but the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner swiftly told him where to go.

And the Belgium international might not end up getting #7 either as according to Spanish newspaper Marca, current holder Mariano Diaz has no plans of leaving the club this summer or vacating the shirt number for Hazard.

Instead, it's been reported that the former Chelsea star has 'decided' he will be wearing the No 23 shirt.

#23 is iconic in Basketball having famously been born by NBA legends Michael Jordan and LeBron James, while past wearers at Real include David Beckham, Wesley Sneijder, Mesut Ozil and Isco.
