There aren't many things better in life than dogs being at football and over the weekend a Golden Retriever went viral after being spotted in the stands of a Scottish league game.

Good boy Yardley is Pollok FC's biggest fan and has been going home and away to watch his beloved side since 2012. Yardley's owner, David, has a season ticket with the southside outfit but pays for his furry friend to accompany him.

The pooch has an allocated spot on the terrace at Glasgow ground Newlandsfield and is well known in Scottish non-league football.

He's a huge hit with fans of Pollok and opposition sides, often looking up at people trying to convince them to give him some of their pies.

This particular picture, taken by Pollok's photographer and shared by former Borussia Dortmund and QPR footballer Ned Zelic, is taken from a trip to New Tinto Park, where the team were playing Rossvale.

Yardley is a bit of a celebrity in lower league Scottish football. He's been featured on the club's programme in the past, there's been a segment on BBC Football Focus about him and he was also a key part of their 2016 promotional video when he was filmed eating a pie out of a man's hand.

Pollok play in the McBookie West Region Premiership and are aiming to win the league for the fifth time in their history.
