Dejan Lovren Is Missing Liverpool's Game Today Due To A Nasty Looking Black Eye

Liverpool fans wouldn't usually miss Dejan Lovren's presence at the heart of their defence all that much, given that in his two years with the club so far the Croatian has proven to be a bit of a liability.

However, the former Southampton man has enjoyed an upturn in form recently but will miss today's match with Leicester due to a nasty looking black eye.

Lucas Leiva will take Lovren's place against the Premier League champions today after the centre-half received a shiner during training on Friday. Fortunately for Lovren the shiner is the worst of the damage and it wasn't anything more serious, like a concussion, but even so, the result is still pretty brutal.

It's not known who was responsible for the black eye, although judging by the lack of news emerging from Melwood about the incident, it doesn't seem as though it stemmed from a violent altercation with a teammate.
