The Premier League has had the pleasure of playing host to many wonderfully gifted Spanish footballers but the SPORTbible audience have voted Manchester City's David Silva as the greatest.

Silva, who has won three Premier League titles since moving to England in 2010, took a whopping 43 per cent of the votes thanks to his dazzling displays on this shores.

A £24 million signing from Valencia, Silva took time to get going but now sits on 54 goals and 77 assists in 226 appearances and is talked about as one of the very best to grace the division.

The 33-year old also earned huge plaudits last season for his ability to play at such a high level when his son Mateo was born prematurely and fighting for his life.

He regularly went back and forth from Manchester to be with his family in Spain but was able to score 10 goals and contribute 13 assists in all competitions in what may be his best season for the club.

Cesc Fabregas, who has just bid farewell to English football by linking up with Thierry Henry at Monaco, came joint-second in the poll alongside Fernando Torres and David- with all three garnering 19 per cent of more than 25,000 votes that came in.

This season, even with his hair growing back, Silva has continued to excel under Pep Guardiola, with nine goals and six assists so far.

Are Silva's talents appreciated enough?
