He's taken his place in the side...

A Facebook post David Luiz produced four years back has resurfaced following recent events.

Back in 2014, the Brazilian posted a picture of himself with Andreas Christensen and tipped him for big things at Chelsea. Though to be fair, the former PSG and Benfica man probably didn't expect the Dane to be displacing himself in the Chelsea side.

After spending two seasons on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, Christensen has waited patiently for his chance and has now started games against both Manchester City and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, the latter coming at the expense of Luiz, who was dropped from the squad completely.

As Luiz watched on from the stands, Christensen was absolutely brilliant at the heart of the Chelsea backline - and some Chelsea fans are already backing him to become a mainstay in the side and keep Luiz out the side.

Following Chelsea's dismal showing in the 3-0 defeat at Roma, Luiz didn't train with the rest of the first-team squad - with speculation mounting that his absence was down to him questioning Conte's tactics for the game at the Stadio Olimpico.

Conte, as expected, played down talk of a rift and said it was merely a tactical decision.

In his post-match press conference, he said via The Telegraph: "No, no. Tactical decision. There is [Andreas] Christensen in really good form and also we have [Ethan] Ampadu who is a good young player. The club like to play with the young player."

"I don't know [if he has a future at Chelsea], he has to work really hard with the others, otherwise they are on the bench or in the stand." Conte told Sky Sports via The Mirror.

Is Christensen a better choice than Luiz at present?
