David Beckham Gave Lionesses Motivational Team-Talk Before Norway Thrashing

England Women received a special motivational team talk from the one and only David Beckham before thrashing Norway in Le Havre.

Phil Neville's Lionesses became the first side to secure a spot in the semi-finals as goals from Jill Scott, Ellen White and Lucy Bronze secured a 3-0 win.

But before the game the group of players received a special treat when former England captain Beckham and his seven-year-old daughter Harper paid them a visit.

The Manchester United legend gave a pre-match speech after Neville had done his team talk, Ian Wright joked around with the squad while Olympic gold medalist Dame Katherine Grainger provided inspiration through a video message to make Neville's job easier.

"It was actually a 5pm team talk,' Neville said.

"He was due to come before but he was late. I did my team-talk first. Katherine Grainger sent a video message we played in my pre-match meeting that gave you goose bumps in terms of what it takes to win.

"When my players saw her telling them about what it takes to win, playing heart and head, I didn't have to say much.

'Then they were introduced to David and Harper and that gave them a sense of what they have done.

"(Former Arsenal and England striker) Ian Wright came in to meal room and cracked jokes with them.

'My players loved it. They can relate to Katherine. David has been supporting us from Day One, and is an icon, and great he could bring his daughter and Ian knew all their nicknames and made them laugh. My job was easy."

Beckham was seen celebrating Bronze's brilliant second-half rocket in the stands with his youngest child and England striker Fran Kirby loved the experience of meeting the father and daughter duo.

"Obviously Becks came with his little girl and it was really special to meet her because she's a big England fan,' Kirby said after the game.

'She came in with her England shirt on and it was really special for all of us. When there's big games, Phil brings out the big guns.'
