Dani Alves and trophies. Name a more iconic duo. We'll wait.

The Brazilian right-back has officially become the most decorated player in football history after PSG beat Monaco 3-1 to seal a sixth Ligue One title in seven years.

Kylian Mbappe bagged a hat-trick against his former side at the Parc des Princes and it means Alves has now moved one ahead of the previously record-breaking club trophy haul of Egyptian Hossam Hassan.

Alves now boasts a ridiculous 42 trophies in his glittering career, the first which came at his local club Bahia, before he got his hands on silverware on a further 39 occasions in European football.

He has lifted three Champions League trophies, six La Liga titles and five Copa del Rey trophies, two Ligue One titles, as well as boasting a Serie A winners/ medal and a couple of UEFA cups during spells at Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG.

The 35-year old has also tasted success with his country, winning the Copa America in 2007, as well as the Confederations Cup in 2009 and 2013.

And following another memorable triumph, the 35-year old celebrated in the dressing room in a way only he knows how - by swimming in champagne.

Alves tops a legendary list of trophy-lifters that includes his former Barcelona teammates Andres Iniesta and Maxwell, who have 37 in total.

It is still possible, however, that Lionel Messi overtakes him at some point in the future - with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner currently on 34 but still on course for a treble with Barcelona this term.
