Cristiano Ronaldo tipped Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar as two of the top five wonderkids in his 2015 predictions.

The 35-year-old Juventus superstar battled for his status as one of the world's best footballers in the last 10 years alongside fierce rival Lionel Messi.

But many were already looking at which footballers would emerge as the next wonderkids and potentially emulate Ronaldo and Messi's accomplishments.

Ronaldo offered his verdict when he was still at Real Madrid, saying then-teammate Odegaard had a lot of potential.

According to The Daily Mirror, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner also picked out Neymar, Eden Hazard, Memphis Depay and Paul Pogba.

"You see many players with potential, I will mention Odegaard of Madrid for example," Ronaldo said.

"At 16, he's still young but you can see he's a very good player.

"Hazard, for example, the No 7 of Manchester, Depay, is a good player too. Pogba... and maybe Neymar."

Odegaard, 21, has had loan spells at Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad before returning to Los Blancos to establish himself as a regular under Zinedine Zidane this season.

Neymar, who was at Barcelona at the time of Ronaldo's comments, became the most expensive player in history after PSG splashed out a whopping £200m in 2017.

Eden Hazard, 29, left Chelsea last summer to complete a sensational move to Madrid.

However, the Belgian winger has failed to live up to his hefty price tag as he has struggled with injuries in the early part of his Madrid career.

Depay, meanwhile, would leave PSV Eindhoven in 2015 to complete a move to Manchester United.

But the 26-year-old Dutch forward struggled to replicate his form at Old Trafford and would be sold to current club Lyon in 2017.

Pogba would return to United in 2016 after ending his four-year stay at Juventus and has won the League Cup and Europa League with the Red Devils.

The 27-year-old French midfielder has also enjoyed success at international level with France as he helped lead his side to the World Cup trophy in 2018.
