Cristiano Ronaldo Helps Out Animal Shelter With Brilliant Gesture

Alexis Sanchez isn't the only footballer to have a passion for dogs because Cristiano Ronaldo has brilliantly come to the aid of an animal shelter.

The shelter in Gouveia, Portugal, houses up to 80 dogs, and the treatment can cost up too thousands, not to mention the maintenance, cleaning of the spaces and the feeding of the animals.

The owner of the shelter Liliana Santos, as well as volunteer Glória Carvalho, reached out to Ronaldo and detailed the problem they face with the Real Madrid star coming to the rescue.

In order to raise funds, he sent a signed shirt to the kennel which will hopefully go for big bucks in the auction with the money raised going to Santos' shelter.

The simple gesture was gratefully appreciated by Santos who said; "I want to thank Ronaldo from the bottom of my heart. It's a simple gesture, but very important." She said via CM Journal.

And it's not the first charitable act from Ronaldo. The Champions League winner donated his massive £456,000 bonus to a non-government organisation while he also supports a number of charities.
