Kaka has been showering Cristiano Ronaldo with praise, labelling the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as "a great person".

The Brazilian played with Ronaldo at Real Madrid, arriving at the Bernabeu in the summer of 2009.

And though he acknowledges the Portuguese was a little vain, Kaka has told a story of how CR7 generously treated Los Blancos staff members when they travelled to Los Angeles for a training camp.

According to the former AC Milan man, Ronaldo went out and got as many as 15 mobile phones for employees to use.

"Cristiano is not only a champion but also a great person," he told SporTV in an in-depth interview.

"He was always attentive, thoughtful and available to everyone in the dressing room. Okay, maybe he was a little vain... but he always behaved well.

"He helped me a lot, even supporting me during interviews. Once when we were at a training camp in Los Angeles, he made sure to get 15 mobile phones and gave them to all the staff.

"I never had any problems with him like any of my teammates."

Ronaldo, now tearing it up in Italy with Juventus after his £99 million switch, finished 2018 with 49 goals after bagging a brace in the 2-1 win over Sampdoria yesterday.

The 33-year old boasts a brilliant tally of 14 goals in 19 Serie A games - which is the best start to a campaign for any debutant in Italy's top flight.

He and the rest of the Bianconeri squad celebrated ending 2018 with another win by saluting the home fans at the Allianz Stadium and team even allowed two young pitch invaders to join in.
