Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo could be involved in an incredible swap deal summer.

That's according to The Independent's Miguel Delaney, who believes the pair returning to their former clubs is not out of question.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has angered United fans with his recent comments, stating that the Frenchman wants to leave Old Trafford for a second time.

"I can say that it's over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United," Raiola said in an interview with Tuttosport.

He also stated that "the best solution for all parties is a transfer in the next window".

Pogba is believed to be keen on a return to the place where he produced his very best football but Delaney reckons there is a chance that the move sees five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo head back to United over ten years after he departed for Real Madrid.

Speaking on The Football Ramble's On The Continent Show, Delaney said: "Talking to people during the week because I've been doing something on the Paul Pogba situation, which is connected to Ronaldo, and the fact that Juventus might actually be interested in a swap.

"It's not impossible. Connected to all that was the view that ultimately, Juventus are trying to install this collective idea of football.

"They tried it with Sarri, now they're trying do it with Pirlo, but that is almost impossible to do while Ronaldo is there, because the way he plays, he just doesn't really fit into that collective approach.

"Now, obviously that was not a problem at all when he was at his absolute maximum, but now it means, even more than ever, Juventus have to play a certain way.

"Then there's that kind of dilemma, where a manager will, in the long term, want to install a more collective system, but while they're doing that, it's such an easy solution.

"We'll get the ball to Cris, but the problem is, it becomes difficult to wean players off that."

Ronaldo made his name at United, scoring 118 goals in 292 and winning countless titles as well his first Ballon d'Or before securing that dream £80 million move to Real.

The 36-year-old has regularly been linked with a move back to United.

Pogba, meanwhile, rejoined United in a club-record £89 million transfer in 2016 but has largely been underwhelming.

On Monday, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes United would be right to "get rid" and called Pogba "the most overrated player" he's ever seen.
