After a comedy of errors this was not a midsummer's night dream and all was not well that ended well as Craig Shakespeare's tenure as Leicester City has come to an end following Monday's draw with West Brom.

Just four months after being given the job as permanent Leicester City manager, following on from his time as interim boss once Claudio Ranieri was sacked, Craig Shakespeare has been sacked as manager at the King Power Stadium.

The Daily Mail reported that the former assistant to Ranieri during the Premier League winning season was called into a meeting on Tuesday with the decision to sack him having been made following last night's match.

Shakespeare's now former side hadn't started the season well and last night's point kept them in the bottom three and was the side's third draw in a season where they have only once won.

The 53 year old was brought to the club under Nigel Pearson but kept his job as assistant when Ranieri took over and was hugely credited by many for his involvement in the Premier League title win.

When Ranieri was sacked last season Shakespeare got the job until the end of the season and was able to navigate the former champions away from the relegation zone and guide them to the Champions League quarter final.

"Is this a P45 I see behind me?"

"Yes it is Craig, don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Poetic!
