He walked through the media area fake coughing at journalists and laughing as he went down the line.

His tasteless theatrics didn't go down too well on social media.

"Diego Costa just walked through the mixed zone fake coughing at everyone as he went down the line," Press Assocation's Carl Markham wrote on Twitter. "Not particularly funny or appropriate."

"Not nice. Not funny either," La Repubblica's Antonello Guerrera said. Another tweeted "He was the only who laughed."

It comes after the global Covid-19 outbreak was categorised as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

The illness has killed more than 4,300 people worldwide and eight people in the UK have confirmed to have died after contracting the disease.

Football governing bodies continue to evaluate the situation ahead of making a decision on the remaining games of the 2019/20 season.
