French security forces have carried out a controlled explosion at the Stade De France, just hours before France take on Iceland in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 at the stadium.

Fans approaching the stadium have said they heard a lound bang and were informed by police that they could not go any further due to the security scare.

The stadium was the site of a suicide bombing in November, on a night when Daesh terrorists attacked Paris, murdering over 130 people in the French capital, including the Bataclan theatre massacre. Two bombers tried and failed to access the stadium during France's friendly with Germany, with one detonating his vest after being escorted away by security guards.

There is no official word as of yet as to what was exploded at the stadium, this afternoon.
