On this day in 2003, a typically strong Manchester United side came up against the star studded 'Galácticos' of Real Madrid in a Champions League classic.
It was certainly a night to remember for the capacity Old Trafford crowd.
The great Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick as both the home and away supporters applauded his genius, and although United won the second leg tie thanks to goals from Beckham, Van Nistelrooy and an own goal from Iván Helguera, Los Blancos won the tie 6-5 on aggregate.
But when all is said and done, one moment involving another great, John O'Shea, will be remembered for the rest of his days. In a moment that gave him the nickname (in my household) of 'The Irish Pele', O'Shea produced this outrageous nutmeg on Luis Figo.

This wasn't just your average piece of skill. Millions watching at home leapt from their sofas.
John 'Pele' O'Shea just nutmegged one of the greatest players of a generation - a Balon d'Or winner in 2000 - and we just can't get enough, 15 years on.
O'Shea went on to win 14 major honours in his time at Manchester United, but this incredible scene involving Figo was like something out of a movie.

Don't get me wrong, the man will never be in any dream XI's, unless your name is Sir Alex Ferguson who absolutely loved his versatility and attitude, but he was effective.
Simple, but effective.
Never forget.
