Christian Eriksen expects to be back playing in "four or five months" following on from his heart attack on June 12.

The Inter Milan midfielder collapsed on the pitch during Denmark's game against Finland in incredibly distressing scenes in Copenhagen.

Eriksen required life-saving CPR for 13 minutes on the pitch and was successfully resuscitated thanks to some incredible work from the doctors.

He has made a full recovery and Denmark were almost galvanised by what happened to him as they did their talisman proud by reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2020.

The former Spurs man was fitted with a heart starter device and it had been suggested there would be "strict protocols" in place to prevent the Dane from returning to the pitch.

However, on Wednesday Eriksen was back at Inter's training base to see his teammates since his cardiac arrest and is said to have talked confidently about a comeback.

Il Corriere dello Sport, via Football Italia, say Eriksen told colleagues he was "lucky" after the frightening incident, but believes he will back in "four of five months".

Even if his able to return, Eriksen may have to continue his playing career elsewhere as he is not allowed to play in Serie A unless he has his implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) removed.

Nevertheless, Inter released a promising update on Eriksen following his appearance at the Suning Training Centre.

"This morning Christian Eriksen went to the Suning Training Center in Appiano Gentile."

"Eriksen will follow the recovery program proposed by the Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will coordinate all the clinical follow-up, always keeping the medical staff of FC Internazionale Milano informed.'

"The Danish midfielder met the club directors, the coach, team-mates and all of the staff present. Eriksen is doing well and he is in excellent physical and mental shape."

Eriksen, who will now return to Denmark for a holiday, uttered the words: "Yes I am back with you... For f***s sake, I'm only 29," after German doctor Jens Kleinefeld asked him the all-important question on June 12.
