Bad news for Thibaut Courtois as he's facing a monetary fine for going AWOL.

Courtois helped Belgium reach the World Cup semi-final, ultimately finishing third after beating England.

As a result, he was granted an extended break.

He was due to arrive at Chelsea's training base in Cobham on Monday. But he failed to turn up as he attempts to secure a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are now set to open disciplinary action against their keeper.

Reports suggest Chelsea will slap Courtois with a £200,000 fine, which equates to two-weeks' wages per Daily Mail.

He's reportedly still in Belgium having also missed Tuesday's training session.

The 26-year-old continues to be heavily linked with a move back to the Spanish capital but with Real Madrid.

He enjoyed three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid between 2011-2014, before returning to Chelsea as he eventually became the clubs main man between the sticks, replacing Petr Cech.

Courtois is hellbent on signing for the Champions League holders with a deal in the region of £35 million being mentioned.

He's entering the final 12-months of his contract, so if he doesn't sign a new Chelsea contract, he's available for free next summer.

Though with just two days left of the English transfer window, can Chelsea afford to offload their No.1 with just Robert Green and Willy Caballero on their books.

But Chelsea risk losing him for nothing at the end of the new season.
