Chelsea played a host of their big guns in today's PL 2 game against Southampton, in what is surely the greatest and most star-studded ever side to play in developmental football.

The Blues, who sit at the very top of the Premier League table after their win over Middlesbrough yesterday, fielded a side that featured first-team players John Terry and Cesc Fabregas.

Club captain Terry, has won four Premier League titles and a Champions League, while out of favour Fabregas is a World Cup and Euro's winner with Spain.

The likes of Kurt Zouma, Marco van Ginkel, Michy Batshuayi also started for the U23 side, with the aim of getting vital minutes on the pitch.

Here is the team in full:

It's fair to say that a lot of people weren't big fans of the use of so many first-team players in the starting XI.

The experienced Chelsea side didn't have it easy though, at half-time, the Blues trailed 2-1 at Cobham but second half goals from first teamers Michy Batshuayi and Marco van Ginkel saw Chelsea pick up the win.
