While he remains heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, Chelsea have been dealt another massive blow to Eden Hazard.

Chelsea's influential No.10 has suffered a serious injury while on international duty. The Belgium FA confirmed the news late Sunday night claiming he picked up the knock in training.

Hazard is now expected to be sidelined for up to six-eight weeks after fracturing his right ankle. The initial diagnosis had him down with a twisted ankle until scans proved otherwise.

He'll now undergo surgery on his ankle later today as he heads back to London for treatment.

Sure, it's the off season but Hazard sustaining this injury comes as a blow after a slog of a campaign. Antonio Conte would've hoped to had his star player resting while playing the odd international.

Could the injury factor in on a possible Real Madrid transfer? Will Florentino Perez be put off signing Hazard knowing he's carrying an injury?

Meanwhile, Belgium are set to play against Czech Republic in an international friendly before playing Estonia in a World Cup qualifier.
