Chelsea are said to be confident of landing Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland in a mega move this summer.

Haaland is courting interest from a plethora of Europe's leading clubs after smashing in 41 goals in as many games for Dortmund in all competitions last term.

Given he's still only 20 and has potential to improve even further, Haaland won't come on the cheap and £170 million is the extortionate fee being talked about.

But according to Haaland's fellow Norwegian Jan Aage Fjortoft, Chelsea are hopeful of bringing him to Stamford Bridge and feel they can afford him.

The Champions League winners see Haaland as the man who can fire them to the Premier League title under Thomas Tuchel and are working hard to get a deal done.

It's reported the hefty price tag isn't the main stumbling block, instead it's more that the deal would not be in line with Chelsea's current wage structure and that could cause some disruption amongst the squad.

Taking to Twitter, the former Middlesbrough striker wrote: "Chelsea working intense (sic) to get Erling Haaland. He is seen as the 'missing' player to make them challenge for the PL title next season.

"Fee very high, but confidence that this can be solved. The main obstacle could be the wage-structure at Chelsea."

Chelsea have done plenty of shopping in the Bundesliga in recent times. Timo Werner came from RB Leipzig for £47 million, while Kai Havertz was signed from Bayer Leverkusen for an initial a club-record £72 million fee.

The pair scored 10 goals between them in the Premier League.

The West London outfit are well aware that due to Haaland's £64 million release clause not being active until the summer of 2022, couple with the fact he is represented by Mino Raiola, negotiations are set to prove difficult and they will have to put together quite the package.

With that being said, The Telegraph are reporting Chelsea are open to including Tammy Abraham in a potential deal.

The youth product fell out of favour under Tuchel and was omitted from a number of matchday squads, including the Champions League final.

Destined to leave this summer, he could benefit from a fresh start over in Germany.
