English Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea are looking into developing their own safe standing sections within Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge after seeing how successful the innovation has been at Celtic Park.

Celtic introduced the so-called 'railed seating' during the summer, in the corner of the Lisbon Lions Stand within their 60,000-seated stadium, having been grated permission to do so by authorities back in 2015.

The area currently accommodates around 3,000 supporters and has been seen as a success amongst fans, adding to the already famous atmosphere inside the famous venue.

And having seen that success, officials at Man Utd are taking a closer look at how what the Hoops have done, in a bid to replicate it and improve the mood at Old Trafford, according to The Independent.

Moreoever, the Daily Mail also claim that Chelsea are considering mimicking the development at Parkhead if and when their £500 million revamp of Stamford Bridge takes place.

So, Celtic may have been the first to take the leap, but it looks like safe standing could become commonplace in British football over the next decade or so.
