Carlos Carvalhal In Frame For Vacant Swansea City Job

Carlos Carvalhal has been appointed as manager of Swansea City.

The 52-year old was sacked by Sheffield Wednesday on Christmas Eve following a 2-1 home defeat to Middlesbrough a day earlier, but hasn't had to wait long to get back into management.

Swansea had some difficulty in appointing a quick successor for Paul Clement and after being added to the shortlist, the former Besiktas and Sporting manager has got the job.

Carvalhal, who guided Sheff Wednesday to the play-off final a couple of years back, was relieved of his duties after a dire run of form that saw the Owls go seven games without victory, including three straight defeats.

His record at Hillsborough is less than impressive, given that he lost 37 of his 131 games in charge, drew 38 and won 56, giving him a win percentage of 42.7%.

Struggling Swansea took their time with appointing their new manager, but with games coming thick and fast, and the Premier League's bottom club looking nailed on for relegation, desperation set in and with limited options available, Carvalhal has been drafted in.

Is Carvalhal the right man for the job? Is relegation an inevitability for Swansea?
