BT Sport have released a phenomenal video of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's incredible period of dominance.

The two titans of world football meet again tonight as Barcelona and Juventus lock horns in the final Champions League group game at the Nou Camp.

It's the next chapter in one of the greatest sporting rivalries and BT have put together the perfect video to get you in the mood for seeing Messi and Ronaldo on the same pitch for the first time in over two years.

Narrated by Gary Lineker, it gives a wonderful account of how the pair gone from humbling beginnings to the two best players ever to kick a football, winning prizes and trophies galore.

The opening sentence where Lineker says "some players play the game, others change the game" is so true when you consider their ridiculous performance levels and numbers.

They've been at the very top for 15 years now and have constantly raised one another's game through a wholly respectful rivalry.

"I shared this stage with him (Messi) for 15 years," Ronaldo put it perfectly speaking to BT when sat alongside Messi at the Champions League draw in August 2019.

"I don't know if it has ever happened before in football - the same two guys in the same stage all the time. Of course we have a good relationship - we have not had dinner together yet, but I hope so in the future.

"We have that battle, he pushed me and I pushed him as well. It's great to be a part of the history of football. I am there, and of course, he is as well."

What they have done is unprecedented and Barcelona boss Ronaldo echoed everyone's thoughts about the greats in his pre-match press conference.

"It's fantastic that these two players have been so long at this top level in the world.

"They are the best players, in my opinion, in the last 10-15 years. Being successful all this time is incredible. It's a great compliment to those players.

"They are different, but they have incredible stats about scoring goals, hat-tricks, about winning prizes.

"It's not nice to say who is better because both are incredible, I admire both players because they gave us so many nice evenings with great goals, with great titles. Let's hope we can enjoy them tomorrow night."

Even though they're still producing as they approach the end of their careers, they won't be around forever and so we must appreciate them while they are still playing.

Here's to both lighting up tonight's clash in what could potentially be their last encounter on the pitch.
