Bruno Fernandes showed just why he's Manchester United's first-choice signing last night when he produced the most delightful through ball from his own half.
In what many felt was his final game for Sporting, in a 2-0 defeat to Benfica, Fernandes would have recorded a truly outrageous assist if it wasn't for Rafael Camacho hitting the post.
Just 12 minutes in, the Portugal international picked up the ball deep and immediately sent the former Liverpool forward in behind the Benfica backline with a stunning 60-yard curling through the ball.
The weight of pass was perfect and Camacho would latch on to it before smashing his effort against the post when he really ought to have scored.
That passage of play is a feature of Fernandes' game. He's created a massive 16 chances from long balls this season, highlighting his impressive playmaking abilities from deep.

But while United fans are purring over a potential partnership with Marcus Rashford, who would love nothing more than that quality of service in behind defenders, it seems as though things have stalled on the Fernandes front.
The latest, according to Simon Stone from the BBC, is that the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the 25-year old.
Spurs, who were in for him over the summer, were only prepared to pay €45 million euros and United have made it clear they will not pay the €80 million euros (£68 million) Sporting are demanding for their talisman.
