He's only played five games in the English top flight but Bruno Fernandes has been named in the BBC's Premier League Team of the Season.

After a long, drawn-out saga, United finally paid £47 million to secure his services and already he's made a monumental impact on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

And having been voted as the Player of the Month for February, the Portugal international has also made BBC's fan-voted team of the season after scoring twice and setting up a further three.

Fernandes gets in at the expense of England pair Jack Grealish and James Maddison and slots in midfield alongside leading Kevin De Bruyne and Jordan Henderson, the two favourites for this year's PFA Player of the Year.

Henderson is joined by many of his table-topping Liverpool teammates, with the likes of Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all shoo-ins for the starting XI.

Leicester City centre-back Çağlar Söyüncü has been voted in after a fine campaign for the high-flying Foxes, while Sergio Aguero gets the nod up top after scoring 16 goals in 22 appearances for Manchester City.

Fernandes is yet to lose a game since making his move to United and showed his elite mentality on his very first day at the club.

After arriving at the Carrington training ground on the day he put pen to paper Fernandes went through medical tests, signed his deal and then did a mandatory promotional shoot.

He then turned to Solskjaer, his new manager, and asked "Can I train now?" before doing a session.

The rest of the players weren't there when Fernandes did his session but the former Udinese man wanted to 'get up to speed' ahead of his debut.

With no time wasted, it's no surprise Fernandes has looked like he's been playing in the Premier League for years.
