Bride Refuses To Show England Game At Wedding, Guests Threaten To Boycott

A right old situation...

Plenty of weddings across the country are no doubt taking place at the same time as England's World Cup quarter final with Sweden.

But it's emerged that one bride is so unhappy with the clash overshadowing her big day, she is refusing to let the game be shown, nor is she letting them watch it on their phones.

It's said that she has received many requests from guests all asking the same big question - and some even threatened to give it a miss because of her "attitude".

Someone who claims to know the women in question, took to a Mumsnet 'Am I being Unreasonable?' thread to make the revelation and detail the alleged Facebook status the bride had posted.

"Just been on fb and someone I know (though not well and I am nit (sic) invited to the wedding!) is getting married on Saturday," the person wrote, as per The Mirror.

"Obviously England are playing. She has it a status on saying she has had multiple requests from guests wanting to know if the football will be shown.

"Her status basically says she's angry at the messages she's had and under no circumstances will the football be shown.

"It's her wedding and the day is about that and that only. She's asked that no one checks their phones during the match and is even going to have a sign made for when people enter the venue as a reminder it's a football free zone.

"Now she's had a fair few comments - a couple even say they wouldn't attend if they were invited due to her attitude What's everyone's opinions?"

The user went on to state that she would be more than happy to screen the game as it would be a "great way to break up the day" - adding she would be "jumping around" in her wedding dress.

Plenty of people voiced their thoughts in the comments, with the majority leaning towards showing the game being the right the call.

Elsewhere, there is a wedding taking place where the big game will be getting shown.

Kerry Warren and Keelan Hall made the news earlier in the week after Kerry posted on Facebook about the potential clash during Tuesday night's Round of 16 victory against Colombia.

"You're most probably going to ruin my wedding day but... Come on England!!!!!" she wrote, clearly aware that the quarter-final would go up directly against her big day.

Her husband to be was in favour of putting the game on and now she has given her seal of approval.

"There has been a lot of debate over the last two weeks or so," said Keelan on Good Morning Britain, who is set to marry Kerry in Rotherham.

"Originally we weren't going to play it because Kerry wasn't really impressed by the idea.

"But after the England game on Tuesday, she has really bought into it and came around to it and made the decision yesterday morning.

"We arrive here at 2.50pm so the guests will be seated and we'll be toasted in ready for kick off.

"It'll be played throughout the meal. We're going to embrace the atmosphere and hopefully, it will make it a better day."
