Brendan Rodgers Confirms Three Leicester Players Are In Self-Isolation

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed three Leicester City players have shown symptoms of Coronavirus and have been placed in self-isolation.

News begun to do the rounds that an unnamed club were taking precautionary measures after a trio of players showed signs of the virus.

And in his press conference today, Rodgers has confirmed that "a few" of his players are being kept away from the rest of the squad.

Rodgers has confirmed that Ricardo Pereira will play no further part this season after suffering an ACL injury in a challenge with Villa's Jack Grealish, while James Maddison is also injured.

The Foxes are scheduled play Watford in the Premier League's early kick-off on Saturday.

As of yet, no Premier League footballers have been confirmed to have contracted Coronavirus. But last night it was confirmed that Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has the virus, leading to Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the squad being placed in quarantine.

Over in Germany, Hannover centre-back Timo Hubers became the first professional footballer to have picked up Coronavirus.

This morning it emerged that Real Madrid players are in quarantine for 15 days, after a member of the club's basketball team tested positive for Coronavirus.

With the basketball team training at the same facility as the football team, players may well have been in contact with the virus and so the upcoming Champions League clash with Manchester City next week has been thrown into major doubt.

La Liga on the whole has been suspended for two weeks, following on from Serie A being put on hold until at least April 3.
