BREAKING: Spanish Prosecutors Claim Against Jose Mourinho For Tax Fraud

Another one

Another day, another tax fraud case is being brought against a Portuguese bloke with ties to Manchester United.

This time though, it's not a former player like Cristiano Ronaldo, but rather United manager Jose Mourinho.

Not much is known about the details of the case at this moment in time, but the investigation pertains to Mourinho's time as Real Madrid boss between 2010 and 2013.

Mourinho lifted a La Liga title and Copa Del Rey during his time at the Bernabeu, before leaving in less than amicable circumstances at the end of the 2012/13 season.

The news comes just as it has been confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will testify in his own tax fraud case, on 31st July.

Unconfirmed sources are stating that Mourinho allegedly owes €3.3 million in unpaid taxes to the Spanish government which, if true, is small change to the charges being brought before Ronaldo, which reportedly total €14 million and could (but won't) lead to a prison sentence for the four time Ballon d'Or winner.

Reports in Portugal and Spain have claimed over the past week that Ronaldo has informed Real Madrid officials that he wishes to leave the Spanish and European champions after eight goal and trophy filled years at the Bernabeu, due to the treatment he has received from the Spanish authorities and, at times, the Real fans themselves.

It is believed that Old Trafford would be the Portugal captain's preferred destination should he actually leave the Spanish capital, although a move is unlikely. Mourinho would certainly welcome his compatriot back to Old Trafford, though, with the Red Devils in need of a new goal scorer following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's ACL injury which led to the Swedish goal machine being released, just under two weeks ago.

Expect this case to rumble on for a good while, yet.
