Southampton have appointed former Nice and Lyon manager Claude Puel as their new manager, Sky Sports News have confirmed. The Frenchman replaces Ronald Koeman, who joined Everton, earlier this month.
Puel lifted Ligue Un as manager of Monaco in 2000 and also won two league titles with the club in the 1980's.

Puel arrives on the South coast following a four-year stint with Nice. He has signed a three year contract with the Saints. Southampton also confirmed that Eric Black and Pascal Plancque will become part of Puel's backroom staff.
