Twitter can be an absolute wasteland at times, with thousands upon thousands of self involved trolls spouting grotesque abuse at one another in a grim, unofficial competition to see who can outdo their peers to be crowned as the worst person on the internet.

But every now and again, our faith in humanity is restored by an odd post and today, that faith has been restored by Bayern Munich's US social media team. And at the expense of Lady Gaga, no less.

One of the many 'fact' accounts on Twitter informed their followers today that Gaga wrote her seminal hit 'Born This Way' in just 10 minutes. Fair enough, that is impressive. But Bayern's Twitter team decided it wasn't quite as impressive as the time Robert Lewandowski scored five goals in a minute less than that.

The tweet is obviously a reference to Lewandowski's phenomenal second half display against Wolfsburg on 22nd September, 2015, when he hit five goals in nine berserk second half minutes after coming on as a half time substitute with the Bavarians trailing 1-0 at the interval.

The Polish striker broke about a million records with this ridiculous feat of goal scoring and is once again going viral because of it, with Bayern's tweet currently sitting on 25,000 retweets in four hours, at the time of writing.

The tweet spawned a flurry of replies, some appreciating the post, others deciding to troll Bayern and others pointing out their own facts:

Well played, Bayern. We hope whoever knocked this tweet out receives a massive pay rise. They've earned it.
