Carlo Ancelotti has been dealt a massive blow with the new season barely underway.

Bayern Munich are three wins from four Bundesliga games, while kicking off their Champions League campaign with an emphatic victory against Anderlecht.

And as the German champions defend their Bundesliga crown not to mention mounting a challenge in Europe, Ancelotti will be without one of his key players for potentially half a season.

According to reports from German outlet Bild, Manuel Neuer is set to be sidelined for 'several months' after suffering a suspected broken foot.

He pulled up in training with the player set to go further medical examinations though it's feared he'll have to go under the knife.

The Italian boss will be without Neuer's services for the league clash with Schalke on Tuesday night.

The 31-year-old stopper has been plagued with foot injuries. In March, he suffered a hairline fracture to his metatarsal. Though he returned in between the sticks after a minor operation.

He's once again done damage to his left foot.

Not only will he miss the Bundesliga clash on Tuesday night, but he could also miss the entire group stage of the Champions League which includes two ties against Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic.

While German reports indicate a break in his foot, Bayern will be hoping the diagnosis comes back positive.

Yet early signs don't look promising. Stay tuned for further updates.
