Iraq's Bashar Resan Played Against Argentina On The Same Day His Mother Passed Away

Iraq international Bashar Resan played against Argentina on the same day his mother sadly passed away.

Resan started Srečko Katanec's side in the 4-0 defeat to 2014 World Cup finalists, who were without captain and talisman Lionel Messi for the SuperClasico friendly fixture in Saudi Arabia.

The 21-year old left the field in the 70th minute and it's said that he was only made aware of his mother's death after he left the pitch at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.


Iraq have another game againsts hosts Saudi Arabia in the friendly tournament but Resan has been allowed to leave his country's training camp to be with his family.
