Alvaro Morata responded to Barcelona fans jeering him last night.

And he could now face some sort of retrospective punishment from UEFA following his obscene gesture.

Antonio Conte selected Olivier Giroud to spearhead his attack against Barcelona, leaving summer signing Morata on the bench.

Though, Giroud failed to make an impression with the Spaniard eventually drafted into the fray. But, just like the Frenchman, he didn't do much other than responding to Barcelona fans.

The ex-Real Madrid striker was targeted by the Camp Nou faithfuls.

It's believed the fans were chanting: "Madridistas son's of b*tches!" And "eres muy malo" which translates to "you're very bad."

Morata caught wind of the abuse, and promptly gripped his balls.

Naughty, Alvaro.

Will UEFA take action?

Well, Spanish press hope so. El Chiringuito TV's Jota Jordi said: "Morata's gesture looks intentional. I hope he'll be punished."

While colleague Paco Garcia Caridad added: "There is no mitigation. It's Chelsea who has to punish Morata."

Morata, 25, departed Madrid in the summer for the Premier League champions, and started life at Chelsea in prolific form.

But his playing time has since been reduced, and so has his goals.

However, Conte is calling for patience on Morata who's failed to score since Boxing Day.

"Don't forget, for Morata, this is the first full season in his career," he said.

"Also because, in the past, with Real Madrid and Juventus, he was on the bench. He was the first substitution if the striker was injured. For this reason, I think we must have great patience.

"For sure, he is a really important prospect for Chelsea, for the present and the future. He will be in contention for tomorrow's game.

"I saw great focus, great will [from Morata] to try and fight for a place. I can tell you this.
