The club have confirmed that Mascherano is set to depart the Camp Nou. He'll receive a farewell ceremony on Wednesday. Fitting for a club legend.

The 33-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona, and it's finally set in stone. The money-rich Chinese Super League, and even a return to Liverpool have been muted.

The writing was on the wall following Barcelona signing Yerry Mina from Palmeiras as defensive cover for Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti.

It brings an end to a trophy-laden seven-and-a-half-year spell.

Four La Liga titles, four Copa del Rey trophies and a couple of UEFA Super Cup's as well as FIFA Club World Cup's. You get it, he's won the lot.

All the best in your next footballing venture, Javier. Could we see Mascherano back at Anfield? Watch this space.
