Bastian Schweinsteiger's £6m move to Manchester United last Summer was regarded as a bargain at the time, but after a debut season that consisted of only 19 appearances and a whole heap of time spent on the physio's table, the German is now potentially facing the chop at Old Trafford.
If Jose Mourinho were to part with the Germany captain, he would have to convince the United board to pay up the remaining two years of Schweinsteiger's contract, which amounts to an eye watering £14m.
Schweinsteiger, however, isn't thought to be interested in a move away from Manchester and is keen to stay and fight for his place in the first team.

Speaking to The Sun, a United source said "Bastian will cost every penny of the £14million still owed to him on his two-years left. He has had talks with Jose over his future but it is still uncertain at this stage. The new few weeks will reveal more. He will not be pushed out and will sit tight for pay-off."
To be fair, if we had a potential £14m coming our way, we'd probably sit tight for the pay off, too.
