A social media influencer, who goes by the name Ray Hushpuppi on Instagram, has pleaded guilty to trying to scam a Premier League club out of £100 million.

Ramon Abbas shows off his wealth on social media, with pictures alongside his expensive cars, in private jets and wearing expensive clothes.

The 37-year-old was busted in an FBI raid and is believed to have had £29 million and 13 luxury cars amongst his possessions.

He plead guilty to being part of a gang which tried to defraud huge sums out of an unnamed top tier club from England.

Court records show that the gang targeted the team with an email scam in which legitimate email addresses were 'hacked and spoofed.'

The man dubbed 'the Gucci Billionaire' faces up to 20 years for the scam, which took place in 2019 and earned him and his gang millions.

It hasn't been confirmed whether or not the Premier League club actually paid the money or not, but, according to the Sun, many others did.

The report says that another UK business lost £200 million in the scam and many British people are thought to have been caught up in the scam, that also took in people around the world.

According to US prosecutors, the social media star "funded his luxurious lifestyle by laundering illicit proceeds generated by con artists who use increasingly sophisticated means."
