As if slipping to sixth in La Liga wasn't bad enough for Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone has been handed another headache to deal with after discovering that the injury that forced goalkeeper Jan Oblak off during last night's defeat to Villareal is set to keep the Slovenian stopper on the sidelines for four months.

Simeone's side slumped to a 3-0 defeat at El Madrigal, their fourth loss in their last seven La Liga games and saw Oblak leave the pitch in serious pain, last night, having dislocated his left shoulder.

It has now been revealed that the injury will require surgery, keeping the former Benfica man out of action until March, 2017.

Miguel Angel Moya will deputise in Oblak's absence, which is due to include the Champions League last 16 ties with Bayer Leverkusen.
