Arsenal's New No.10 Is The Perfect Choice

Arsenal have a new No.10.

Unai Emery now heads Arsenal's charge after replacing Arsene Wenger who called time on his managerial career at the club last season.

The Spaniard has already reinforced his squad ahead of the new season in the shape of goalkeeper Bernd Leno, experienced full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner and, most recently, Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

And he's also handed Mesut Ozil the No.10 shirt.

Ozil, who previously owned the No.11 shirt, fills the No.10 void following Jack Wilshere's emotional departure.

The German midfielder has reacted to becoming Arsenal's new No.10, saying it's a special number for him referencing his childhood idol Zinedine Zidane.

"It has never been a secret how special this number is to me," he said.

"My childhood idol Zinedine Zidane wore this number and it is still the most characteristic one for the playmaker position. 'I'm looking forward to putting it on for the first time at Arsenal after the summer break."

Ozil wears the No.10 shirt for Germany, and also had the same number whilst at Real Madrid.
