Arsenal Target Spotted Leaving The Emirates, Fans Swarm Him

Arsenal fans have firmly had their focus on their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but another rumoured transfer target was in attendance for the 2-1 Carabao Cup semi-final second leg win over Chelsea at the Emirates last night.

Arsenal Fan TV captured footage of the Leicester City winger in his car after the game, with Arsenal fans mobbing him, asking why he was there and urging him to join.

Mahrez saw the Gunners come from a goal down to win 2-1 and seal another visit to Wembley, where they will come up against Manchester City on February 25.

The former Le Havre man wanted out at Leicester City in the summer and handed in a transfer request.

But despite strong interest from Roma, and links to Arsenal and Barcelona, he stayed put and his form has been impressive ever since the arrival of Claude Puel as Craig Shakespeare's replacement.

However, it could well be Arsenal fans getting ahead of themselves as there could be nothing at all, given Mahrez was watching the game with his Leicester and Algeria teammate Islam Slimani, who is one of about 64 target men being linked with Chelsea as they search for a new striker.
