Arsenal Receive Injury BOOST!

Arsenal Receive Injury BOOST!

It's finally happened!

Are the grey clouds starting to clear above Arsene Wenger's head? After a couple of weeks where it seems to have rained constantly on the Arsenal manager there's finally some good news!

In the last few weeks Arsenal have lost Gabriel, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi to injury, missed out on a couple of transfer targets and lost their opening Premier League fixture for the third season in a row- conceding four goals to Liverpool- but now there's some good news on the injury front.

It comes in the form of England international and bona fide decent striker Danny Welbeck. The former Manchester United frontman missed lots of last season before making a positive impact on return in February only to pick up another injury with two games to go. It was thought he could be out till April but Wenger dropped some good news:

"The news was excellent and he will be back around Christmas. He had a second check - not a procedure, a check with a camera inside. That was the good news of last week, the only good news. That was very positive.

"He has an inflammation of his knee and they had to go in again to see if it is healing well or not. If the healing was not good, he would have been out until April."

With Olivier Giroud as the Gunners only recognised striker at the moment and Wenger seemingly refusing to sign another one, after the Jamie Vardy deal collapsed, Welbz return can't come soon enough for the Emirates side who are left with Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez as alternative front men.

Of course one problem with an early return for the 25 year old former Sunderland loanee is that December is still quite some way away and Arsenal could be out of the title race by then and any excuse Wenger can find not to spend money he'll take it seems. We await the "Danny will be like a new signing" lines with baited breath.

Still on the whole, good news Arsenal fans!
