Arsenal have made a £40 million for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Gunners have identified the Ivory Coast international as a top target this summer and despite their financial situation from spending big, they've made their move for Palace's prize asset.
The former Manchester United man is a boyhood Arsenal fan and his brother Judicael says Zaha is desperate to get his dream move.
Arsenal's opening offer evokes memories of the time they bid £40,000,001 million for Luis Suarez when he was at Liverpool, with John W. Henry's "What do you think they are smoking over at the Emirates?" tweet still very much relevant to this day.
Palace will surely want to squeeze every penny but it is noted by Dean Jones of Bleacher Report that Arsenal are potentially willing to include two players in a deal.
Zaha is regarded by many as the best player outside the top six in the Premier League and contributed to 15 goals last term.
